In railway engineering, track-vehicle interaction is key to ensuring a certain level of track quality. In order to achieve this quality, it is necessary to carry out an exhaustive control of the deterioration of the railway, this being a consequence of the traffic and the vertical stiffness of the track. In order to obtain an optimum value of stiffness, together with the need to rationalize the sizing of the track, it is useful to study the behaviour of the railway cross-section. The study of this has forced the designers to use different tools, such as numerical models that seek to model the behaviour of the railway platform so that its design is such that the requirements of safety and comfort that are required to the rail transport.

This paper shows the realization and proposal of a numerical model that seeks to reproduce as realistically as possible the behaviour of the railway platform, with a dual purpose: to become a calculation tool for the designer and that its use allows the own elaboration of design recommendations.
